Evaluation

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
Before I started to create a student magazine front cover and contents page I did some reasearch. I got to see what the different magazines did to atracted students to buy it. I got to see what masthehead head, headlines, coverlines, colour schemes, puff's and other house styles was use. This was a helpful because I now knew the things that  needed to stay the same in my magazine, such as the 3 colour, colour scheme. It also gave me ideas on what topics would be suitable to include in my magazine, ones that were aprote for the gonra and the age range. However the magazines were dated and alot of the topics being discus would no longer be at intrest to my audence. So this was changed for exmaple one magazine I looked at was discusing the iphone 3gs and they have now brought out the 5 so this is what i chose to include in my magazine. As well as the magazine's being for a larger age range and aiming them a a wider audience, colleges and universitys all over the uk. Where as mine is based around 16-19 year old who study at Ludlow college.

2. How does your media product represent particular social groups?
My magazine is based around student knowlage. I am a student so i have tried to create the magazine as how i would want it to be if i was the consumer. As well as using the student research. This help me determine what people would want from the magazine in genral, as well as getting 3 diffrent people's opnions, making a reilibel outcome. Such as my colour scheme is white, purple and orange. Because I liked the option of the orange and pink and so did Ellie in the video responce however Ryan and Amy didnt and both chose a option that include black so this was added, the black also stud out more when on the magazine. The way my magazine looked was also very import as it the way it atracks people. So by putting a photo of a ludlow student on the front cover of the cover magazine represents that it for students of ludlow college, making it a more personal experence for them. I also took a range of different photos for the context page to reflect what your expected to find within the magazine. As well as atracting you to read on.
3.What kind of media institution might distribute your media product and why?
When i was analyzing 2 magazines which was aimed at the student catogary i noticed some of the things they have contain the same elements in which I have included. There for I think my magazine would be best suited for college students, however it would be disributed to students in my college in poticular as the context i chose to write about and inclued is whats happening there.

4.Who would be the audience for your media product?

My magazine would be aimed at 16 to 19 year olds. As that is the college age rage and they are the how are most likey to want to read it. However it terms of infomation the magazine can also be amed on a much wider scale as tutors may want to find out what is happening or keep up to date with there students by knowing who and whats populat at the moment.

5.How did you attract/address your audience?

My magazine uses a range of technques and ways to atract the audence one of these is the brand identy with in the masthead. Which is blod and unusal to atrack peoples eye. As well as using many other housestyles which have been layout neatly and clearly to create a proffesinal vibe to the magazine. As well as the contenus font, colour  and size with in the context page. In contrast to this the price has been put in a larger and diffrent font (chalk duster) to the rest as I wanted this to stand out and atracting people toward the magazine  as it is a reasonably cheap price. I have also used informal langue so the magazine has been made personal to them and its like the magazine is talking to them as the reader.

6.What have you learn't about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

I have leart alot from creating this student magazine. Expessialy in terms of the computer software we used called adobe in design. For example before i did this I didnt know that every time I want to add someting to the project I have to add a new layer. As well as many more things that I know think of as symple. As well as the computer technolgy I have also leart some great technequins when taking photograph's such as the lighting, camara angles and facial expresions. This is also my first time on blogger which i have found great during the prosses as its easy acsses. As well as being easy to use.

Introduction To Brief

The brief requires me to design a front cover of a magazine. In order to do this it has to have an audience which is to be college or school students. Key thing’s it must feature is a photograph of a student/students I have taken myself, appropriate text for the genre and a masthead. I shall be using a DTP and image manipulation programs in order to create the front cover. As well as updating this blog regularly to record my progress.
